INDIA KNIT FAIR, TIRUPUR, OCT 2022 INDIA KNIT FAIR (IKF) in its 48th edition at the Tirupur exports association complex, was organized after almost 3 years after covid-19. The show was inaugurated by minister of information and publicity of tamandu, Mr M.P. Saminathan on 12th oct 2022 at 10:30 am. After the inauguration the minister took a look at each exhibitor and he also spent time at the booth of baa and our members had a chit chat with him and explained him about buying agent community.
Unlike the previous years, this year the show was really good, bigger than earlier with two floors of exhibitor space. Most of the booths were nicely presented. A team of 17 baa members travelled as delegation to the IKF show. Each of our member visited almost all exhibitors at the show finding out best suppliers for themselves. And most of us could find right vendor for our sourcing by the
end of the show. Most of the first day was spent by our members at the show discussing business with suppliers.
On second day, our members started the day with visiting all booths again in case they had missed any earlier. The factories had displayed lot of new stuff, designs and products. Our member Mr Jyoti Mahajan also placed confirmed orders with six of the factories there for 24000 pcs worth $100000.00.
This was a good achievement for our team. And the other members had generated queries worth millions to be converted to business subject to confirmation of price and quality etc.
Also, this day our Founder member Mr CS Unni from Indian Exports Consultant visited the show, BAA members honored him at our booth as he showered his blessing to the young members of baa. Knowledge committee’s input by Ms. Rohini Suri & Mr. Nitin Mohan.
Post covid after 2019 this was the first apparel event trade show. I was honored to initiate and achieve two key requests baa booth and an award function for apparel (knit) sourcing consultants. Though initiated by self i was supported by knowledge committee, trade committee, ABAT and
IKF! We went ahead in one of the most difficult times in my personal life.
With my apparel industry lineage baa and ABAT were respected forefront at the impressive functions of IKF inauguration, IKF press meet and the first of its kind, IKF award function, the Oscar of our sourcing industry. IKF Tirupur, in the presence of shri M.P. Saminathan, hon minister for information & industry govt of Tamil Nādu from Dr. A.Sakthivel president FIEO & chairman india knit fair association, conducted the glittering event supported by TEA, ABAT and BAA, surrounded by the best in the Industry. A truly unforgettable experience. The presence of 7 awardees brought to the
fore the power of the sourcing consultants for the export industry. At a conservative estimate business given by awardees was above $200 million. Awardees have brought apparel at Tirupur to light in their retail and brand companies. The export community at Tirupur were heartened and encouraged in their endeavors for export india.
NIFTA and BAA were honored at Tirupur. Press coverage was excellent.
Overall, this show was good for our members and also exhibitors, as both could achieve their purpose. We had some members for whom it was their first trip to this show. They had very positive feedback that they are very eager to visit to another edition of the show next year.
