Global Textile Expo, TexTN, was organized by SIMA in association with Government of India at Coimbatore from 27-29th January 2019 showcasing most of the domestic products like South based silk sarees, dhotis and various apparels like t-shirts, leggings, etc. Also, it had a fabric and yarn section which was of interest.
The show was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of Textiles, Smt. Smriti Irani in the presence of other Govt. Dignitaries
In the fair they had collection of producers in area of exports,
handicrafts, weavers, yarn and fabrics. It was a show to develop fabrics, trims and organic yarns for giving recommendations to buyers. It was a base sourcing for buying agents to recommend to their factories. They showcased various products from the textile sector down south in different cotton, silk, Linen, viscose and other blends.
BAA delegation met some visitors at the show who were from different countries, representing some retailers, importers and some from Messe Frankurt, Russia.
Global Textile Expo was not a very big show, but lot of learning was there for our members. BAA members got some good sources there. Thanks for all members to make this a success.
