The Jute Product Development Export Promotion Council organized their first endeavor into the exhibition of Jute related products on 7 – 8 January 2019 at Kolkata. The show was attended by 21 BAA members along with one buyer from Bangladesh.
The JPDEPC extended their fullest support to BAA members and wanted to explore the possibility of exports as well as domestic promotion of their products. BAA was a ‘Sourcing Partner’ to JuteXpo, which was a great achievement for us.
Under the Aegis of Ministry of textiles and Industry, Govt. Of India, the buyer seller meet in Kolkata was a success and they displayed products like jute hand/shopping bags, beach bags, ribbons, placemats, runners, home furnishings, floor covering, decorative fabric, geo textile & other jute handicraft products.
BAA members attended the show for two days and most of the BAA members got good vendors, though the fair was not too big. The event was well planned and products from Home, Apparel and Accessories including Jute Bags of different kinds were exhibited.
Lot of innovation in designs was visible at the booths of exhibitors. Many new kinds of jute fabrics where some of our members showed interest. We are hopeful of some good business to be generated by our members.
There was another event of handloom, silk & handicraft by the Ministry of Textile that was merged and held along with Jutexpo & it became mega event at Old currency Building which is a very beautiful old heritage site.
Our Governing Body Members, who attended the show were also felicitated by the JuteXpo Committee, which was such a wonderful gesture by them.
The hospitality and courtesy extended by the organizers was highly appreciable and we all look ahead to their second edition.
Development of Jute and Jute products has been an ongoing development program and will be riding the wave of sustainable products in the current environment stress the globe in under.
